The Swiss Management Society (SMG) provides executives and managers in Switzerland with a valuable platform for regular exchanges through events, workshops, and networking meetings. The goal is to promote best practices, innovations, and current trends across industries and to facilitate dialogue with experts and like-minded individuals.
At this year's Best-Practice Meeting of the Swiss Management Society (SMG) in Basel, the renowned Straumann Group took center stage. As a global leader in dental implants, dental replacement solutions, and orthodontic products, the group impressively showcased its over sixty-year history of innovation and its advanced digital transformation.
Dr. Thomas Friese, CTO Straumann Group
The event provided an exclusive platform for SMG members, which includes the Straumann Group. Gianmario Dussin, a representative of SIM, was impressed by the deep insights into the company's history as well as the forward-looking digital strategies that were presented.
Founded in Switzerland in 1954, the Straumann Group has grown from a small research institute into a major player in the global dental industry. Mr. Cadola guided through the various phases of the company’s development – from its beginnings in a material testing laboratory for the watch industry to groundbreaking advances in orthopedics, and today’s specialization in high-quality dental implants.
Mr. GadiolaCadola emphasized that an open and trust-promoting corporate culture is fundamental to success. For the well-being of a flourishing organization, two aspects are crucial: psychological security regarding the company’s future and the appreciation of every single employee.
A highlight of the meeting was the presentation by Dr. Thomas Friese, CTO of the Straumann Group, who explained the group's digital transformation. He stressed how digitalization enables tailored solutions for different target groups and how, through the use of cutting-edge technologies like 3D printing and AI, dentistry is being revolutionized.
These digitalization efforts are not only focused on developing new products but also on optimizing internal processes and communication between the group’s globally distributed locations. The result is a more efficient, data-driven way of working, helping Straumann respond quickly to market changes and solidify its leading position.
After successful networking at the SMG event, SIM initiated a follow-up project with the Straumann Group's management team. This project aims to showcase SIM's offerings and explore deeper partnership opportunities. By engaging in direct conversations and organizing additional networking sessions or workshops, the goal is to enhance the collaboration between SIM and key industry players, thereby boosting SIM's visibility both in Switzerland and internationally.
